He commissioned this conversion from a Mk VI Saloon, using a bodyshell by one of the Bentley specials movement’s leading lights, Harry Rose with addition of sweeping fly-away wings (for max turning circle) and external hand brake. During the rebuild, the engine was moved back and replaced with a more powerful Rolls Royce B61, 4. 9 litre, straight six unit matched to a 2. 92:1 long ratio differential. Exceptionally lightweight and fast, suitable for Race or Rally use. Avail now for test drive.

Stunning recreation of a 1930’s style racing car, influenced by the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Testa Fissa, and one of one of only three built. Created by a skilled engineer over 30 years ago, who had flown with the RAF in WW11 and then had a successful motor racing career in the 1950’s, racing alongside Mike Hawthorn and other greats of the time from the 1930’s & 40’s. He then set up and ran a successful boat building business on the south coast before using his skills to recreate this Brookland’s style Speedster using well proven and reliable underpinnings. The car is nicely aged and looks of vintage origin. Comes with a great history file covering the builders military and racing career. As close to flying as you can get with a driver’s licence! As you can tell from the accompanying pictures, it has been totally restored to the last nut and bolt with overall fit and finish quite outstanding.
